PFSense, Dynamic DNS and Gandi

Services Menu - select 'Dynamic DNS'
PFsence is simply a fantastic product, I could have selected the arguably equally as good OPNsense or IPFire, but found its mix of capability and UX (thats short for 'user experience', dont'cha know) hit the sweet spot for me.

I had been using DuckDNS, to provide dynamic DNS access to my home network, however thanks to a notification I missed (or did not receive) I found out that Reddit withdrew the ability to sign in to DuckDNS with their API last year, and I lost the ability to amend my settings as a result.

I then spotted that I could use Gandi for my DDNS provider.

To do this simply select  'Dynamic DNS' from the 'Services' Menu within PFsense (as seen in the image to the right)

Once you select this you will see a blank page similar to the one below, click on the +Add button.

You will then see a setup/configuration page, there is a drop down with many services listed, select 'Gandi Live DNS', and complete the form as noted in the image below, in the password fields enter your Gandi API key (generated via your Gandi dashboard security settings)

Once you save the config you should be up and running.
