Energy Prices in the UK

Yup, the UK is going through a energy cost crisis, my provider (octopus energy) has always been pretty good, and is still the 'cheapest' at least based on the median of the past 5 years of usage

My cost for the last few years has just been under £640 per year, my last fix just finished I've just been moved onto the 'flexible/variable' tariff and it projected to be £988 for the year.

The 'cheapest' fixed tariff would cost me £2143 for the year, needless to say l'm not fixing

To add to the happiness my understanding is the UK energy market/industry is anticipating an additional 23-27% rise yet to come

Oh, if anyone in the UK wants to switch to Octopus I have a referral link (we both get £50 of account credit) https://share.octopus.energy/blond-snake-615
